Description

Ball check valves are a type of valve with a spherical ball design inside its body that rotates to control the flow path of fluid or gas through the valve. The ball has a hole or port that allows the fluid or gas to pass through when aligned with the inlet and outlet ports of the valve. The handle forms a 90-degree angle with the pipe when in a closed position.

Ball valves can be trunnion mounted to reduce friction in situations of high-pressure drops.

They are commonly used in pipe and industrial applications requiring high flow rates and tight shutoffs. In addition, ball check valves are often used for isolation purposes, preventing contamination of a system by foreign elements.
