Description

Triple offset butterfly valves are a game-changer in valve technology, offering superior performance and reliability in control valve applications. These offset valves are designed with a unique offset configuration that ensures tight sealing and precise control.

The key feature of triple offset butterfly valves is their valve seat design. Unlike traditional butterfly valves, these valves employ a metal sealing mechanism, known as a metal seal or metal sealing, which provides a tight shutoff even under high-pressure conditions. This innovative design eliminates the need for additional gaskets or packing materials, making it a cost-effective solution for various industries.

One of the significant advantages of triple offset butterfly valves is their ability to handle harsh service conditions. They excel in high-temperature and severe service applications where other valve types may fail to perform effectively.

Their robust construction and advanced materials make them highly resistant to wear, corrosion, and erosion, ensuring long-lasting zero-leakage performance even in demanding environments.

In addition to their durability and reliability, triple offset butterfly valves offer several key benefits. Their precise control capabilities allow for excellent flow regulation, making them ideal for applications that require precise throttling or modulation. These valves also have low operating torques compared to other control valves, resulting in energy savings and reduced wear on actuation equipment – enabling an extended valve life.

Triple offset butterfly valves have become an indispensable asset across various industries, such as:

  • Oil and gas,
  • Power generation,
  • Chemical processing,
  • Water treatment facilities, and more.

Their versatility and exceptional performance make them an excellent choice for critical processes that demand reliable operation under challenging conditions.

Laminar’s triple offset metal-seated butterfly valves can be ideal for positive shutoff or control in harsh and critical applications.

Available in wafer, lugged, and double flanged type body styles to 150 lb and 300 lb pressure ratings. Ideal for use in oil and gas, cooling districts, chemical processes, and applications with low-pressure streams and high-temperature gases.

FAQ's

The main difference lies in the sealing mechanism.

Double offset butterfly valves feature two offsets – one in the shaft and another in the disc. This design allows for a more reliable seal by reducing friction between the disc and seat during operation.

On the other hand, triple offset butterfly valves have three offsets – one each in the shaft, disc, and seat. This unique design provides better tight sealing capabilities by eliminating rubbing or interference between these components.

In terms of performance, double offset butterfly valves offer good control over flow rates and pressure drops while maintaining a tight shut-off capability. They are commonly used in applications where moderate pressure differentials exist or where tight shut-off is required.

Triple offset butterfly valves take performance to another level. Their advanced geometry and precise manufacturing tolerances provide exceptional sealing capabilities even under high-pressure differentials and extreme temperatures. This makes them ideal for demanding applications such as oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, and offshore installations.

The term “bidirectional” refers to the ability of a valve to control fluid flow in both directions. In the case of triple offset butterfly valves, they are indeed bidirectional. Their design allows them to regulate fluid flow in either direction effectively, providing flexibility and versatility in a wide range of applications.

The unique design of triple offset butterfly valves also allows them to achieve a resilient seal and minimal leakage, even under high-pressure conditions.

It makes them suitable for applications where flow reversal may occur or where the direction of fluid flow needs to be changed periodically.

Whether controlling the flow of liquids or gases, triple offset valves provide reliable performance in both directions. Their advanced design ensures efficient operation, reduced maintenance requirements, and extended service life.
