Heat Shrinkable Sleeves

Group 1 1

A range of heat shrinkable wrap-around sleeves have been specifically designed for corrosion protection of girth weld joint of buried steel pipelines, suitable for use with a continuous operating temperature of up to 60℃ in wet conditions (as verified by hot water immersion testing) and fully compatible with 3-layer PE factory applied pipeline coating. The sleeve is suitable for ambient conditions where pipe and coatings’ black body temperature can reach 65℃.

The adhesive may be either visco-elastic based mastic or co-polymer hot melt adhesives to match up with in-service performance requirements. Our heat shrinkable sleeve is a wraparound heat-shrinkable, ready-to-fit assembly for the corrosion protection of field girth weld joints in distribution and transmission pipelines. Compatible with standard pipe coatings. Laminar shrink sleeves can also be used for coating bare, replacement pipe sections and large radius bends. The system is designed to be applied with minimum preheating and is ideal for large diameter oil, gas and water pipes.

The installation is carried out directly on the cleaned and dried (pre-heated) pipe surface. During installation, the heat shrinkable sleeve is wrapped and shrunk to form a tight fit around the joint. While curing, the adhesive softens and flows to form a perfect bond with the pipe surface providing protection against corrosion. The radiation cross-linked outer layer forms a tough barrier against mechanical damage and moisture transmission.

Excellent multifunctional adhesive allows for lower installation preheat temperature and super bonding to PE, PP and FBE, offering full resistance to shear forces induced by soil and thermal movements. Saves time & cost by lower preheat temperature and wet epoxy primer application.
